Here's a good listing of distributed/cloud scale databases http://wiki.toadforcloud.com/index.php/Survey_distributed_databases

The listing includes key/value stores, BigTable databases, document and graph databases.  Both commercial and open source databases are listed.

Twitter promises to open source the framework, but it depends on an unreleased version of Cassandra and other frameworks that need to be open sourced.
