Has any one heard of Doyenz ShadowCloud? if yes, where would one place this service?
There are some many subcategories, vendors and products within IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and Cloud Software it would be a real challenge to put them all on one page. There is a printable graphic, but it does not contain everything in the cloud taxonomy. Fitting it on one page doesn't leave it readable. Here's a link to the printable graphic, http://www.opencrowd.com/assets/images/views/views_cloud-tax-lrg.png
Is the cloud taxonomy available on one page? For Iaas Paas SaaS and Cloud Software?
I work for quite a large SaaS company based in Berlin, Germany. We tested the various computing clouds and chose CloudSigma in the end because of the excellent support, great performance and very cost effective pricing.
Key success criteria for us were control over our computing and security. CloudSigma was able to offer both in a coherent package. Unlike other vendors we found CloudSigma to be happy and willing to accommodate our needs, chat through our requirements on the telephone and even give us extra benchmarking and scale testing capacity as part of our initial evaluation process.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend CloudSigma to other people looking for a professional IaaS platform. Not only is their product excellent but they seem to be nice people to work with day to day too.
I've been using the CloudSigma platform for 2 months now having previously been an EC2 customer. After the difficulties in getting things to work under EC2, moving to the CloudSigma platform was a breath of fresh air. The server and disk behaviour was predictable, the networking was straightforward and their support bent over backwards to help us during our transition. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a high class IaaS solution.
